A Comprehensive Yoga Intensive
The Anusara Immersion is a Yoga Intensive that was created so that all students have available to them the fullness of the teachings that yoga has to offer and fully enjoy them without the pressure of having to teach it to others. There is so much yoga has to offer that cannot be taught in a 1-2 hour format, or even in workshops.
Asana: We will take the time in each weekend to break down the principles and learn how they apply to all the classes of poses – standing poses, backbends, inversions, and restoratives, etc. we will progress through the Anusara Syllabus of poses, beginning with LeveI and by Part III of the Immersion explore various Level III poses. With this commitment, your practice will progess to an extraordinary level!
Meditation: In each weekend we will learn and practice different techniques for meditation so you can establish a regular practice. We will talk about the purpose, benefits, and the pitfalls, all important in creating a meaningful practice for your life.
Pranayama: Many of the breathing techniques, pranayama, can only be taught when there is enough time before asana practice, so the Immersion allows us to explore them fully to realize the benefits of a fuller relationship with your breath.
Philosophy: Another important aspect of yoga is the underlying philosophy. The Immersion is designed to explore the underlying philosophies of India, including Buddhist and Hindu and Tantric philosophies so that students have a solid foundation and can begin to independently explore deeper into the different philosophies that resonate with them.
Commitment: Each weekend will include Asana, Philosophy, and Pranayama. You may sign up for one part at a time, or for the entire Immersion all at once. To receive credit for the purpose of taking any further Anusara teacher training, the entire Immersion must be completed as a pre-requisite.
